The BBC showcased Aston students in a Look North feature on Friday May 1st.
The feature, which aired on BBC1 at 6.30pm on Friday May 1st, focuses on Aston's students as they prepare an entry for this year's Roscars awards.
The Roscars, an annual event showcasing the best creative digital work from students across Rotherham, has become a high-profile event in South Yorkshire, drawing the attention of Look North, who now sponsor the TV News category - the category Aston is aiming for success in.
Aston's PDR was converted into a TV studio as a group of Y9 students combined their journalistic skills to create a news article entry for this year's awards, focusing on the success of Aston's U14 Girls' football team in the Rotherham Community Cup.
Having written letters of application, successful students took responsibility for writing scripts, camera work, editing film and sound, presenting and appearing as special guest stars.
