Information for Parents & Carers

StudentsIn Partnership with Parents & Carers

If our students are to achieve their best at school they must have high standards of attendance and punctuality. We expect all students to attend school regularly and encourage parents/carers to avoid making medical appointments during school hours. We also request that holidays are not taken during term time, there are no periods of the year when students will not be affected by an absence and important work will be missed.

We have a clear Code of Conduct which sets out our high expectations of students regarding standards of behaviour. We aim to ensure that students in school feel safe and secure and they can work in an atmosphere of tolerance and respect. This helps to create the right climate for learning and we will not tolerate behaviour that disrupts the learning and teaching of other students.

We believe it is important to work closely with parents/carers and are keen to keep you informed not only when problems arise but also when students behaviour warrants praise.

UniformSchool Uniform

At Aston we have high expectations of our students regarding uniform. All of our students in Years 7 to 11 wear full school uniform. This reflects an important sense of belonging to our school community. Our aim is to encourage the highest standards in all that we do as a school and part of this is that our uniform reflects these standards. Our Sixth Form students are not required to wear a uniform.

The school uniform is as follows:

  • Black blazer with school badge. Blazer must be single breasted with a front pocket for the badge on the left side. The blazer must be in plain black.

  • School tie.
  • Plain black 'V' neck jumper may be worn under the blazer in cold weather.
